WOODY BOWMAN HOSPITALIZED - - 02 JULY 2006:

Bonnie writes ... it is with great sorrow that I announce to all of you that Woodrow W. "Woody" Bowman, proprietor of the WC icon, Woody's Supermarket, has once again been admitted to Miami Valley Hospital on July 2. It is my understanding that he isn't doing nearly so well this time, as he did last time.

Ironically, Woody opened his first produce stand (just about on the spot where the old Woody's Arctic Bar stood, for years) on the date of July 2, 1944. The event was memorialized in a dated, oil painting which graced the walls of the market for many years. I'm sure we all recall it. He's now 93 1/3 years old.
