WECATON NEWS REPORT - O7 aug 2009:

Bonnie Writes:

---It's that time again, WC folks! Thankfully, you
have all made great efforts and kept the news rolling in at a steady pace. That is the only thing which keeps these bulletins running, as you all know! Let's get going with our forwarders, as is our usual practice. They are 1954's FREDA P. FLETCHER;1956's RALPH D. WILSON; 1957's BETTY L. CARROLL, RALPH H. WARNER, THERESA M. MOSES, THOS. E. ELLIOTT, 1958's WM R. HOWARD, RONALD D. "TOM" FEE; 1960's LINDA LEE SHANK, FRED L. DOOLEY, JR., STEVEN M. KOKOT, LARRY M. PENDLEY, DELORES K. "DEDE" FAHRNEY, EULA FAYE BAILEY, CHAS. A. "BUD" LOW-MAN III, C. SUE MCCLOUD; 1961's JAS. E. CURTIS, CAROL A. MUMMA, SALLY LYNNE GILLETTE, GARY R. FRANK, CONNIE M. MARCUM, DALLAS K. MATHIS; 1962's BARBARA T. O'NEAL; 1963's FRANCES LOUISE PEFFLY; 1965's STEVEN F. SHADE, 1969's ROBT. E. THARPE; and 1971's PAMELA K. SHIPLEY.

Of course, we still have our missing folks, from an e-mail standpoint. They are 1958's KEITH E. ANDERSON, HARRIETTE E. DOGGETT, 1961's MARVIN A. COLLINS, 1963's DANA L. GREEN, and 1969's JACQUELINE J. CLARK. If you have updated e-mail on any of them, do please notify me. I'm getting a reject on all of them, for various reasons. Attention, 1961's CONNIE M. MARCUM! Has your e-mail been changed or did you just send something from a yahoo acount? I didn't have the one you sent to me, so do let me know, and thanks.

Also sending me an updated e-mail was 1960's EDGAR L. "EDDIE" KELLY. If any of you need to contact him, or didn't get the update, do let me know. After all those years I spent trying to find YOU, Eddie, I sure don't want to lose you! Thanks for keeping us posted.

We've got another e-mail update and I'm not in the habit of putting this news in this section, but will make an exception, this time. If you're not aware of a change of email for 1961's JAS. E. CURTIS, do let me know. However, this one is not just a routine change of e-mail. This is due to a truly special occasion. You see, Jim is retiring!! What a great event, Jim, and we all offer you heartiest congratulations on achieving this life-altering event. We wish you many years of relaxation, enjoyment, travel, or whatever it is you may wish to do.

Speaking of travel, where are you OTT people? It's been forever since I heard from you, DAVID G. and your lovely spouse, 1963's SANDRA K. MINIX! Where ARE you? Fran tells me you're doing lots of traveling. Is that right? If so, you need to keep us posted, okay?

At this time, let's welcome aboard a new reader on our list. It is 1970's ALGOTT C. "AUGIE" HERMAN. I just love your unique, first name, Augie! I've never known anyone with that name. Augie wrote to tell me its origin is Swedish, and the name is common there. I do hope you will enjoy the bulletins, Augie, and that you'll be able to hook up with a few of your old pals!

A report from 1965's STEVEN F. SHADE, has confirmed the death of 1936's VALDREENE BECKETT, whose surname upon her death was Hoffman. In reading the obit, I saw that she was the aunt of 1946's ROBT. E. HOFFMAN. Mrs. Hoffman was 93 years old and had lived a full life. Condolences to Bob and all other family and friends.

Steve also sent in the obituary of his own, 1965 classmate, CHRISTOPHER E. WASSER, who passed away on July 27. It sounds as though it may have been cancer, but don't know for sure. Christopher was also a U.S. veteran. We send condolences to the family and friends, and also thanks to you, Steve.

For anyone who's keeping track (I am), this is the 5th bulletin of 2009. The last one was sent on July 21. I'm beginning this one on July 27, just so that so many messages aren't backed up in my e-mail. We'll see how long it takes for completion, but I'm aiming for a maximum time frame of 6 weeks.

One of my first responses to the last bulletin was from 1961's NANCY A. HALL, who expressed being flattered by my naming her as my official, spiritual advisor. Well, Nancy, I can't think of a soul (no pun intended) who could possibly be as qualified for that spot as you. So stand by! As soon as I hit a rough patch, I'll be writing for your wise counsel.

Nancy also wrote that she and her husband had just spent 5 days in the area of Nashville. That's not ALL that close to me, about 220 miles, but I have yet to find an ugly part of Tennessee, so I am sure they had a lovely time, as Nancy wrote.

As I write this, it's August 1 (which means it's also the 68th (right?) birtday of 1959's GARY E. BARNES. But by the time he reads this, it will be long gone. So at least I was thinking of you, Gary, just so you know. Gary and I maintain a sort of semi-regular, running monologue of WC happenings and people, don't we, Gary? In fact, as I've written previously, you're one of my most reliable, "field reporters," so keep up the good work!

Also on this day, none other than 1960's WM. M. ROHLER, and wife Gloria, are cruising this state (Tennessee), en route to vist all the foster kids he reared with his first wife, who died after 38 years of marriage. Bill and I have been try-ing SO hard to connect, but it's just not working, so far. The rains are hard and steady and they are astride the Harley-Davidson dresser, which they rode all the way from their home in Bombay Beach, California, on the shores of the Saltan Sea. It's hot, hot, hot there, and they can nearly walk into Mexico. Also residing there is 1945's RETHA MAE SCHOONOVER, whose children Bill knows, but didn't know their mother was WC until I told him. At the moment, I'm trying to get another arrangement on the table, before they leave Tennessee. But it's not looking good, at this time. We'll see. (Footnote: Alas, due to the inclement weather and Bill's work schedule, we didn't get to connect before he left the state. I'm SO disappointed!)

However, I'm thrilled to report that Bill and Gloria DID successfully hook up with Bill's lifelong pal, 1962's RICHARD C. CALL, for a couple of fun days at his Brookville home. While there, they put in a call to another old pal, 1960's EDGAR L. "EDDIE" KELLY. Eddie wrote me a long e-mail about that call, and was thrilled they'd taken the time to call him while Bill was there.

Rich and I talked at length, after they left, and we did some really fun reminiscing about our many
, old, high school adventures. Don't we all? All the older readers will recall Bill and Gloria's last big road trip was to the Nampa, Idaha, home of his other old pal, Eddie, where they also spent time and then rode all the way back home. I'm just green with envy for Bill's being able to do that! After all the years I spent in searching for him, I'm just heartsick that it didn't come to be, even with him so close!

Thanks to those of you who came forward with a contact address for me for 1961's R. MICHAEL FORSYTH. I especially thank you, RALPH D. WILSON, 1956 Your response was instant, so I hope I've removed my, "clod status," from Mike's mind, for failing to send a thank-you note for his significant gift. Also confirming the same info was 1960's RICHARD S. HOLT. So thank you, too, Richard.

Wow! Was I ever in the dark, way back in the old high school days, about the silent fan club of guys, regarding their then-young typing teacher, DORRIS M. SHANKLIN, as quite a dish! (By the way, her first name DOES have 2 r's in it, for those of you who think I'm misspelling it.) I got a few responses to her mention in the last bulletin and yes, she did teach typing, also.

Stepping up to the plate to let us know they had a big crush on her, way back then, were 1958's RICHARD L. JOHNSON, DONALD I. MCCOY, and 1961's BARRY R. WICKLINE. I suspect it's just the tip of the iceberg, though. Barry wrote, "I thought she was the cutest thing! I had a huge crush on her." Richard wrote, "She was only a few years older than us, so all us guys thought she was pretty hot." At least, though, Richard gave her credit for teaching him the typing, what with all the electronics we now have. So did Don, and he talked of how his typing class put him in a room with eighteen girls, not to mention Miss S., whose, "beautiful looks lit up the room," he wrote. So she is certainly well remembered!

Cousin JUDITH L. SAMUELS and I continue our daily banter, about all things domestic, and she continues her travels. She and husband Bill just recently returned from a trip to Mexico, where I understand she didn't break or destroy a single thing in the motel room. Ha! Judy and Bill are very active in the home town of Holly Hill, Florida, and they're always on the go to the local VFW, Moose Lodge, and Eagles Lodge. Judy is one of the past presidents of the Eagles, in fact.

Our noted, published author, 1961's CAROL A. MUMMA, has a new book which is available at Barnes & Noble. It's a 2-volume paperback and is titled as, "Spirit Lake, Books 1 & 2." Thanks, Carol, and we all wish you much continued good fortune and success with your writing.

As I usually mange to do, I got myself into hot water with 1972's PHYLLIS A. SELLARS, as I wrote that she's the older sibling of 1961 class member, GERALDINA SELLARS. Woe is me, Phyllis! I'm SO sorry for that. The fact is, I was looking at the class years and thinking of 72 as being older than 61. My mind is just a bit like a sieve these days, with things going in and out of it, more rapidly than I can process it. Apologies are in order and I do hope you will accept this one from me.

Never one to be biased, I managed to get YOU into trouble, too, 1958's WM. R. HOWARD. She told me she wasn't aware of your recent surgical procedure OR of your trip, and wrote that you're in big trouble, too! Hmmmm, now when we've got whole families on here, these things are sure to happen, right?

Let's all send along good wishes for glowing health to 1956's JAS. L. FORSYTH. His old pal, RALPH D. WILSON, has advised me that Jim is in great pain and discomfort with a disc in his back. So we're all pulling for you, Jim, and hope you're doing better. Jim, of course, is the older brother of 1961's R. MICHAEL FORSYTH.

As predicted, and as supported by her recent e-mail, 1963's SHIRLEY A. RANKIN confirmed her dental trip was successful and she survived. However, let's all keep our fingers crossed for Shirley, please. She wrote of having cancer in 1966 (thyroid), and that something has reared its ugly head again. She was going to get tests at Vanderbilt. Keep us posted, please, Shirley! She and her husband, Terry, will be returning to Florida in September, where they will both be working at the theme parks, as usual.

Also checking in during this bulletin period was 1962's JOHN A. COMBS. All the time you've been on the list, John, I had you misclassed as 1964! I don't know where I got that, but I'm so happy to now have it correct. John and wife Donna live in Astor, Florida (which is about 30 miles from where I lived for nearly 30 years) and he wrote they're making an Ohio trip in August. No, no, no, John!! Please don't do that. Delay that trip a few weeks, until the first part of Oct., so that you can join us all, hear? Do keep us all posted. Everyone would love to see you! John also wrote graciously of how much he enjoyed reading the bulletins and how fun it was to hear all the names again, of his old school friends.

John was especially interested in contacting his old pal, 1962's FRED J. RANDALL. So I set about seeing if I could possibly make that come to fruition for John. On our readers list is 1956's JOS. F. SNELL, who was long-married to the older sis of Fred, the late JUDITH A. RANDALL. Assuming Joe might have some contact info, I wrote him an e-mail, and sure enough, Joe had an e-mail address. I also looked up further info in our alumni book. So let us know, John, if you decide to contact Fred, will you? Also, thanks to you, Joe, for providing the requested info.

From 1963's LEE JEAN HELLER came a great e-mail, in which she also spoke of her great en-
joyment in reading the bulletins and recapped a few great experiences from the era during which many of us grew to some semblance of adult-hood. It was, indeed, a special time, as you so wonderfully pointed out, Lee Jean.

She wrote of playing football in the back yard, just before dressing for the prom, wearing ugly shoes which her mother forced upon her, and how she fell into the entry of her date's home, as the movie camera was rolling! But Lee Jean, you didn't tell us his NAME! Who was it? She also suggested doing a website, "WC Funny Memories," page. I'd think that would be a real winner, Lee Jean, so I think you should go right ahead and set it up. Once it's done, do let me know the way to access it, and we will all be writing lots of good stuff on there, I'm sure! I'd bet we'll have at least ONE more great story, of the 1959 Christmas season kiss, which was planted (on a dare) on popular and pretty 1960 class member, NANCY E. "COOKIE" BOWIE, by the ornery KEITH H. CLENDENON. That's a great story, Keith! I still smile when I think of it. I'm betting Cookie does, too, even though she says she doesn't remember it, at all.

A couple of 1961 folks also checked in with good words about the bulletins (DALLAS K. MATHIS and JACK L. GODBY), both of whom are always terribly gracious. Dallas, have you been at any of the WC funtions? If so, I wasn't aware of it. If not, why not? Jack, we simply must see YOU this year! It's NEVER the same now, when YOU aren't there!

Attention, MICHAEL S. WEST!! Did you reach our 1960 classmate, EULA FAYE BAILEY? To those who are unaware, Mike wanted to contact Eula Faye. I'm sure he thought up some bogus excuse for that. As we all know, he has a huge crush on Eula Faye, and I don't think Sally minds it a bit. You'll have to stand in line for that one, Mike. Our own Fonzie, EDGAR L. "EDDIE" KELLY, has the original, long-term crush on her, you know!

Are you there, J. DAVID MAYS? Mike has been writing to me about some old slides you gave to him, quite a while back. He has been trying to contact you, in order to return them. I took the liberty of providing him with your postal address so you may be getting them back soon. Per the advice of your beautiful spouse, Ann, I knew you weren't very gung-ho on the e-mail thing.

To my great pleasure, I received a recent note from 1958's DONALD I. MCCOY, in which he assured everyone that his health is finally going back to normal. Don has had a long siege in the aftermath of an April gall bladder operation, in which he lost a lot of weight, everything tasted like wood, and he was just not in good health. But he's up and at 'em and back to playing his music and riding his bicycle regularly. He says he's getting back to good health, once again. Great, Don!

What a treat was this next e-mail! It came from 1960's RICHARD L. "DICKIE" PHILLIPS. Now, for those of you who may be unaware---although not many were---Dickie was, shall we say, one of our, "more colorful," class members. He was right up there in the ranks with Eddie Kelly, Bill Rohler, AARON COUCH, and the late CURTIS A. KEMP. I must also include Rich Call in this group, by the way. What a crew they all were---fun, ornery, mischievous, and always getting into trouble, for one thing or another! But they sure kept things going!!

Dick began by writing that he'd sure gotten his share of paddlings, a fact of which most of us are well aware, and it was the order of the day, back then. He specifically mentioned LANE, EISELE, and HOUCK as paddling him pretty severely. He also mentioned a woman teacher doing it, which I can't imagine in my wildest of dreams. Dick, after all, was probably about 6'5" when we were in school. He doesn't remember her name, I'm sorry to say. Please work on that one, Dick. I'd just LOVE to know which one it was. I'm betting on REBECCA A. MARSH or possibly MARTHA H. DEAN, though.

Anyway, Dick went on to tell of a particularly bad paddling he got from the former, Olympic weight lifter/teacher and coach, STEVE GRABAN. He said it knocked him across the hall and into the lockers. He wrote that Mr. G. was SO angry, he was shaking. Dick just knew Mr. G. was going to kill him. His paddle was a 3/4"-thick piece of lumber, Dick wrote. He also said the lockers hurt worse than the whack. Mr. G. gave him but one, and I guess that was enough. He went on to write of Mr. Houck's paddle being the type which hurt most, as his were thin and had those airholes in them (oh, boy, shades of HARRY A. RUSSELL's infamous paddle!) He also wrote that Mr. G. had, "muscles on his muscles," and I'm sure that was true. He referred to Mr. H's paddle as, "his weapon of choice." Then he went on to write of, "Wood Chuck" CROY, and said he had an assembly line going, when it came to making the paddles (to which he refer-red as, "those bad boys.") I was truly in tears of laughter, as I read this e-mail. It was WAY too funny, and I know many of you share his paddle memories. He even titled his e-mail, "Corporal Punishment." How fitting, Dick, and don't you DARE miss the alumni weekend this year, do you hear me? Bring Jerry, too! Thanks for such a great addition to the bulletins. By the way, at the end of his e-mail, Dick observed that today, teachers would be fired and sent to jail for what we took for granted, way back then. That's no doubt true, Dick, but take a look at the caliber of people from our generation and then take a look at what we now have. As I'm constantly saying, "Modern is not necessarily better."

Also checking in from a short absence is 1963's FRANCES L. PEFFLY. Fran was recently at a business function in nearby North Carolina, but wasn't able to visit me, this time. I'm hoping she will get here on her next trip, though. The web- site for her cooking venture is accessible for us to use by going to ( www.painlesscooking.com )
The one which was posted in here last time is one with which a few of us had a problem. So let's all try to access this one, please, and give Fran a hand with this. She says the more hits she has, the better. We'll ll give it a shot, Fran!

Fran has been keeping close tabs on her sister, 1956's DONNA J. PEFFLY, who's been having some serious health problems. Fran, be sure to tell Donna we're all pulling for her and we wish her well.

Fran also reported that her classmate, ANNA MAE STOKES, said our alumni weekend plans are moving along well. Anna Mae is an alumni officer, of course. As such, she's working on the crown jewel event, the dinner/dance on Oct. 10. I haven't heard much about anything else, but I do know all plans are on target for the Second Annual Miami Shores Memories Picnic, to be held at Wendell Wax Memorial Park in MS on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. Two of our other functions, the Thursday night gathering at Ron's Pizza (Miamisburg) and the Frisch's Frolic on Friday night (Oct. 9)---well, they're both things which just sort of, "happen," and no one needs to do ANYthing. They both have good turnouts.
The Frisch's event was the brainchild of 1960's MICHAEL S. WEST, and has proven to be a real winner. The picnic came about as a result of the efforts of 1958's RONALD D. "TOM" FEE
, and what a smashing success THAT was, at its inception last year. He had able assists with it from WM. R. HOWARD, DONALD I. MCCOY, and now aboard is 1957's BETTY l. CARROLL, who's got official connection with Moraine City. We've got the big building for this year. These functions are all great fun and big winners. Do not miss them!

So that leaves only the WC golf tourney which is normally held on Friday, this year on the 9th. I've yet to hear from its founder, 1959's GARY E. BARNES, but I'm sure that will be happening soon, too. That one takes a bit of planning and Gary always obliges. If any of you want info in advance, Gary's in the Dayton phone book!

My learning experiences continue with 1954's FREDA P. FLETCHER! Freda, you are able to make me remember things which literally have not come into my mind in decades. Ditto for you, 1960's MICHAEL S. WEST. We were all members of the old Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, as you all know, and as many more of us were, too. At that time, the minister was Pastor Chas. L. Mullen, who is a vivid figure in my childhood memories, even perhaps a little foreboding. Anyway, he was an old bachelor, dedicated to the care of his widowed (?) mom and to that church. His mother and that church were positively his entire life. He never married, eventually he retired to Cincinnati, where his mother died, and he died there, too, although I don't recall when. (I suspect the answer to that one, justmight come from my newly-appointed spiritual advisor, 1961 's NANCY A. HALL. (Any
ideas on that date, Nancy?) Also, my sister, the late, JUDY ANN RISNER, 1956, would be able to give us the answer to that one.

In any case, during my childhood, it was terribly apparent, even to me, that several of the ladies in the congregration were uncommonly devoted to Pastor Mullen. Among them were the Sieber twins, Verda and Ada, and then there was also the organist, whose name just drove us crazy (me, Freda, and Mike, that is). Well, don't you know, after thinking non-stop about what her name was, I finally came up with it, and I have NO clue how I did that. I haven't given her one, single thought in 50 years. But her name was Kathleen Kalb and I shall never again forget it!

We also discussed how the new church just did not, "feel the same," as that old, original one. I still have some photos of it. The first time I was married (of the many), it was in the new church and it was by Pastor Mullen. He also baptized both my children. The late RONALD P. CRAIG, 1960, was Godfather to my elder daughter, so was standing to my immediate right, as she was baptized. It all seems like yesterday!

Also, just for the record, Belgrade is the capital of Serbia, writes Freda. That's where her son, 1975's Dr. MARK T. SCHROEPPEL, works for the American Embassy. See what I mean? I'm always learning things from you, Freda!

Never forgetting my Harley-Davidson roots, I got e-mail from 1961's NANCY J. ERTEL, in which she sent photos of the currently-happening rally at Sturgis, South Dakota, an event I attended for 20 straight years (1982-2001), without missing a single one. Of course, I was also instantly aware of the tragic accident on July 30, which claimed the life of Bruce O. Rossmeyer, who owned a Harley-Davidson kingdom and with whom I sat on the Bike Week Executive Board for 15 of my 22 years on it. I knew him pretty well. What a tragedy! His funeral is being held, even as I type this (August 4). If I still lived there, I'd be in attendance.

Many of us have probably heard of the annual air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It's held each year, about the same time, as the Sturgis Rally & Races, in fact. All those years of traveling cross-country, every time I talked to anyone on the road, if they weren't headed to Sturgis, they were headed to Oshkosh. It seems that's just where 1960's RICHARD S. HOLT was headed when he wrote the last e-mail on July 21. So I guess it's now concluded and you're back at home, Richard, is that right? So how was your trip? Over the years, I'd heard that show just kept getting bigger and bigger. But in recent years, commercial flying has diminished, so I'm wondering if it's affected that show.

From 1964's RICKEY A. BUSCH came a query for more info on our activities for our upcoming, big weekend. Rick thinks he may be able to get into town for the Sunday. Rick, we all hope you'll be getting there for MUCH more than just that Sunday. I believe I already wrote and told you of how we all break off into informal groups for a few breakfasts, lunches, and brunches before everyone heads back home. We have some unofficial functions on Thursday eve, Friday morn, Friday eve, Saturday afternoon, and the big one on Saturday eve, which IS the only, truly official function, and that's the WC alumni dinner dance. If you can make just one function, do be sure it's THAT one! We all hope to see you in October, Rick!

Also checking in was 1987's SHARLENE N. MERKER with general family news. Her spouse is 1985's JEFFREY A. SIZER. Jeff is among those who lost his GM job recently, and with the economy being what it is, Sharlene's domestic cleaning business has cut back quite a bit, too. She tells me they have given thought to some changes in their lives, but aren't making any big decisions right now. Whatever you decide to do, Sharlene, we all wish you well. Again, if any of you have cleaning needs, business or home, do give Sharlene a call.

Recent chats with 1956's ANITA RAE MASON indicate she's doing well. I saw Anita in June, on a quick in/out trip to attend my family reunion. I was gone but 36 hours, total, and no time to do any individual visiting of any significance. As is always the case, she looked great. She also said her sister, 1957's SARAH M. "JACKIE" MASON, continues to do well, too. She always looks marvelous, too, by the way.

Naturally, I've also been in contact with 1961's P. LYNNETTE GARRETT, and husband, Frank. They're back at their Germantown home for the time being. Lynn expressed great surprise at your moving to Tennessee, 1961's CONNIE K. STREETE. I told her it seems as if everyone is moving here to Tennessee. (Yes, I hear you screaming loudly, MICHAEL S. WEST, 1960. But it seems there's little we can do. What can I say? Tennessee is just a winner, all the way around.) By the way, Lynn, Connie and her husband have sold their business, so they don't have to stay put for that, any longer.

Lynn also wrote of what a ghost-town-like area it is becoming, all around Montgomery County and the adjoining counties, due to the exodus of GM and NCR. I noticed, myself, how many of the empty buildings and parking lots dot the old landscape. There's such a sadness in that.

Okay, now here's a mystery for all of you! There are some of you who will instantly know to whom I refer. But most probably won't. Word came to me that two of WC's most popular-ever alumni are making major changes in their lives. One of them is relocating from one end of the country to the other, due to meeting a very special person. This is really big, as the alumnus has lived in the part of the country where they now reside, for many, many years. But who is it? Well, I try SO hard to be discreet and will certainly continue that practice. But, party-of-interest, if you are reading this, and you recognize yourself, and you don't mind others knowing, please do let me know, all right?

In the second instance, we have someone who is actually remarrying!! This particular one is SO exciting to me, and it's possible they might have already done it, I don't know. But again, party-of-interest, if you recognize yourself in this bulletin, please give me the go-ahead to notify others of your wonderful event, will you? (Also, how about sending me a new e-mail address for you, will you?) Of course, I wish you both the very best, in ALL you do!

It's August, folks! So what does that mean? Of course, it means it's the month for the exciting, annual gathering of the 1961 folks at the home of CAROLE J. LEWIS. When is that, Carole? I want to come to that SO badly and it never does seem to work out in such a way that I can. But I will surely make it, one of these years!

While I'm about it, I want to inquire as to your welfare, THOS. L. WOLF, JR. Are you doing all right? Drop me a note, please. I'll also try to call you again soon. As many of you will recall, Tom recently lost his wife, WC teacher, SUSAN C. WOLF. We all hope you're doing all right, Tom. I can only imagine how tough it must be.

It's been a while since I heard anything about the much-beloved VINCENT A. BRODBECK, so I hope his son, 1981's D. BRIAN BRODBECK, can give us an update on Vince. He also lost his spouse in April of 2008, the late, DOROTHY J. "DOTTIE" WILLMAN, 1960. We all think of you often and fondly, Vince, and hope you're doing well.

Long time no hear, 1955's NORMAN E. JACK- SON! What are you doing? How are you? It's Sturgis time, so naturally, you come to mind. I have fond memories of riding motorcycles many a mile with Norm, many years ago, for those of you who might not know.

This is for you, BRUCE E. CHENOWETH, 1958. How is your brother doing and how is your sister? Is the health of either of them improving at all? I'm hoping so. If you drive down this way, don't forget me. I know you won't.

As amazed as I am, fellow alumni, I've gotten through all the e-mails and then some. I can but scarcely believe it's only Aug. 7. I sent the last WeCaTon on July 21, so that's only 17 days and just LOOK at the news in here! Are we quite an active bunch or what?

Will this be the final bulletin before our special weekend together? I don't know, but perhaps. I have the most gigantic house you've ever seen and I'm still caring for my now-almost-bedridden husband, on a 24/7 basis. But I'll do my utmost to get at least one more done, prior to that. I'm not promising, though. My best to each and every single one of you. You've all become an integral part of my life, which I cherish. I get SO much more from this, than do all of you. Thanks for reading and thanks for appreciating. So I now leave you, once again, with my usual wish for glowing health, great happiness, peaceful serenity, spiritual harmony, and boundless prosperity. Ciao!
