HOMECOMING 2013 and MURL HUFFMAN REPORT...
---It's always a joy to write special bulletins which are of a
positive
nature, as is this one. For so long, it seemed as though the specials
were
all about someone dying. Anyway, I've recently received WC news which
is
terribly exciting ofr me. It just so happens I've learned this year's
WC
Homecoming Grand Marshal is going to be 1987's SHARLENE N.
MERKER. This
event will take place Oct. 12. As most all of you are aware, there's
a
whole network of WC genes at work here. Sharlene is the daughter of
1960's
SHIRLEY J. TUDOR, the spouse of 1985's JEFFREY A. SIZER, the
daughter-in-law
of 1959's GARY L. SIZER, the niece of the 3 late Tudor sisters, 1955's
DONNA
G. & DORIS D., and 1957's DEANA C. Sharlene and Jeff are the parents
of the
football team's ANDREW W. SIZER, Class of 2014, and of NICOLE LEE SIZER,
and
I'm thinking she may be Class of 2016 or maybe 2017. She's the sister of
WM.
J. MERKER, JR., and I think he was Class of 1981. Then if we branch out
to
the Sizer side, we get into 1957's NEIL H. SIZER, as well as all the
PARKS
clan, since Neil's wife is 1959's SHIRLEY R. PARKS. So you're getting
my
drift here, right? This is practically like a log book---pun
intended---of
WC Pirates, and Sharlene is our WC Homecoming Grand Marshal. We all
offer
you heartiest congratulations, Sharlene. (By the way, for those of you
who
may be unaware, it was me who officiated at Jeff and Sharlene's 1994
wedding
held in my front yard in Florida. I was a Notary Public there for 30
years
and NPs are empowered to marry people in that state. So I'm proud as I
can
be!)
Here's yet another great tidbit. Their son, Drew, as he's addressed,
has
been accepted into the Navy SEAL program and will go after his
graduation.
Wow! That's a biggie.
Finally, get your reservations to the home of 1970's GARY E. JOHNSON,
post
haste. It's right down to the wire, now. I believe Monday is the final
day
The word on the street is that of our iconic civics teacher, MURL
E.
HUFFMAN, being fit as a fiddle again, and ready and rearin' to attend
the
functions of next weekend. So as Fonzie might say, "Be there or be
square!"
Best to all. Bonnie
